“Have you figured out your 2019 resolution yet?” I asked my husband from across our kitchen table.
I’ve brought up this question to him each December for as long as I can remember. He’s known for a long time now what a planner I am, and once a planner, always a planner.
“Well, it’s not going to be to go to the gym more, since it is so crowded this time of year,” my husband responded. “I do really want to see the grandkids a lot more. Their schedules have been so busy lately. I miss their little faces.”
“So I’ve been thinking….”
“Yes?” he questioned with a knowing smile.
“This year, I want to make a travel resolution,” I continued.
Ever since coming back from our Hawaiian vacation last month, my mind has been spinning with ideas of traveling more and inviting our entire family along with us. I keep picturing waking up in the morning, and enjoying breakfast together, followed by pool time, exploring, family dinners, and pineapple. Plenty of pineapple!
“I want 2019 to be all about our family and being together. What do you think about planning our next vacation, and we reserve rooms for all of us?” I proposed.
“I think this is the best New Year’s resolution you’ve ever made,” he agreed.
My husband held up his coffee mug. “Cheers to a year all about family and making memories together on vacation. We will give each other the gift of time together!”
To making more memories,
Joy and Robb
